Primrose is nurse focused. Nursing is already a stressful career. We believe in providing our travel nurses with the help and support they need to ease the stress of traveling and starting a job.
We are with our nurses every step of the way from finding housing, documents needed, travel logistics, and are a liaison between you and the facility, so our nurses can focus on the job.
We pride ourselves in providing exemplary critical care and psychiatric nurses to facilities that are understaffed. As nurses it is our job to work together to provide safe, competent, exceptional patient care. As travel nurses we help to reduce work fatigue for our fellow nurses, short staffing so that nurses have more time with patients to provide better care and reduce medical errors.
I have been a nurse for over ten years. In that time my main specialty has been the emergency department, but I have also worked in the ICU, PACU, and surgical services. I have been a DON, manager, and supervisor.
My latest endeavor was working with a travel agency that placed me in New York City to help with the covid pandemic. I was nervous not only about working during a pandemic in a state I had never been to but also about travel, where I was going to stay, and not knowing anyone.
I soon learned that for the most part I was on my own. I was just another number to the agency and once I was placed, they were on to the next nurse to recruit. My recruiter and the company had no idea what I was going through as a nurse and could not relate. They had never worked with the public in their worst times, dealt with work fatigue due to extending your patient load because you’re short staffed, or know the emotional, mental, and physical toll of having to be on top of your game for twelve plus hours, because if you’re not it could have serious consequences for patients and other healthcare workers.
After speaking with fellow nurses about their experiences and my own with travel agencies, I decided there must be a better way. Who knows nursing, hospitals, patients, short staffing issues, and what you need/want from fellow healthcare workers better than nurses?
So I formed Primrose Group, a travel agency that focuses on nurses helping nurses provide better care.
